The cactus plant – with its ability to survive under harsh desert environments – also offers plenty of health benefits when it is consumed. Rich in antioxidants to quell free radicals and reversing cellular damage, the cactus also contains soluble dietary fibres to improve blood lipid profile, thus enhancing heart health. It is also rich in Vitamins A, B-Complex and C, making it a health superfood.
Tantalise your taste buds and enjoy all the health benefits
A staple in Mexican and Latin American diets, you can now enjoy all the health benefits of the cactus – with the F&N Fruit Tree Cactus Mixed Juice Drink.
Prepared with specially harvested cacti from Mexico with no added sugar, the F&N Fruit Tree Cactus Mixed Juice Drink is high in Vitamin C – thus boosting the body’s antioxidant level. At the same time, there are aloe-vera bits to give the drink an additional healthy crunch.
Taste-testing the F&N Fruit Tree Cactus Mixed Juice Drink
Thanks to F&N, I had the opportunity to taste the F&N Fruit Tree Cactus Mixed Juice Drink. Despite there being no added sugar, the first taste that my tongue picked up was a little sweet taste. But at the same time I was also able to detect a very refreshing flavour, thanks to the aloe vera.
As well, I could taste a familiar apple as well as the cactus flavours. There was also supposed to be some pear flavour in the drink, but I hadn’t been able to detect this. The cactus flavour reminded me slightly of the raw taste of vegetables in smoothies. But I discovered that the sweetness I detect earlier, was good in helping to neutralise this. At the same time, I also quickly found out that the cactus flavour is one that grows on you very fast.
As a whole, I must say that this is a very interesting and unusual drink and unlike most beverages that I have tasted before.
