Urban Park @ Tanjong Pagar Centre, a 150,000 square foot community fitness venue, recently opened on Tuesday 24 October with a blast – in the form of an energetic Pulse powered by Clubbercise® session. This had been conducted by the centre’s flagship retail tenant, Virgin Active.
The Pulse workout had transformed the park into party central for the evening. Pulse is one of the biggest and latest dance fitness concepts to hit Singapore, with fitness enthusiasts working up a sweat, accompanied by upbeat music and neon glow sticks to add to the lively atmosphere.
Located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar
Tanjong Pagar Centre is GuocoLand Singapore’s flagship integrated mixed-use project of 1.7 million square feet, in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, located above the Tanjong Pagar MRT Station. At 290 metres high, it is the tallest building in Singapore. Its height specifications, quality spaces and creation of a vibrant community hub, make it a benchmark for sustainable green living and engaging lifestyle experiences in Singapore.
And now, designed as a new gathering place in Tanjong Pagar by providing an exceptional venue for a wide range of community activities centred around ‘Fitness, Music and Play’, the Urban Park will leverage on the 30,000 square foot City Room that has a 10 metre high glass canopy covered with solar panels, as well as in built sound and lighting systems – to accommodate up to 2,000 people for fitness activities, music performances, artisanal markets, cultural events and family family recreational activities for office workers, residents and the community in general.
Bringing in new experiences for office workers and residents at Tanjong Pagar
Said Valerie Wong, General Manager, Commercial, GuocoLand Singapore, “Prior to the development of Tanjong Pagar Centre, there was no centralised venue to bring people from the community together. Our aim for the Urban Park was to be a place maker by bringing in new experiences to promote fitness and well being, while also offering a setting where people can enjoy a meal, work out at the park or enjoy quality time with family and friends.”
She added, “The Urban Park also creates opportunities for people to connect and engage during the work week and on weekends. Its competition will bring Tanjong Pagar Centre’s vision to life and help transform the district by creating vibrancy through a wide range of activities for the whole community.”
Set to become the social heart of Tanjong Pagar

The activities taking place at Tanjong Pagar Centre are as follows.
