ASICS Relay Malaysia: Change of Venue

The venue has been changed for the 2018 edition of the ASICS Relay Malaysia, which takes place on the evening of 29 September. The exact flag-off time is yet to be announced though.

Third edition of ASICS Relay Malaysia

The 2018 race marks the third edition of the ASICS Relay Malaysia and the race this year hopes to attract 1,000 teams of four runners each, whilst at the same time, providing every runner with a fulfilling night running experience.

KLSC picked as new race venue

Originally scheduled to flag off from Dataran Merdeka in Jalan Raja, the venue has now been changed to Kuala Lumpur Sports City, Bukit Jalil (KLSC).

Formerly known as Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex, the KLSC was picked as the new race venue because of its safety aspect and reputation in being the most iconic and distinctive international sporting and entertainment centre in Asia, in addition to its feasible running route.

This change is in line with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur’s new ruling that no major night events are to be held in the KL City Centre.

Added Boon Tib Som Nik, Country Manager, ASICS Malaysia, “We are happy to be able to showcase the relay run concept in Malaysia once again this year, and we are certain that the change in venue to KLSC will bring a breath of fresh air and even more excitement to our relay run agenda.”

Runners who can no longer make it, can opt for a full refund

However, runners who had already earlier signed up for the event but are not able to join the run because of the venue change, can choose to opt for a full refund.

As well, the option to replace a member within a registered team is also permissible too.

But there will be no change to the run date, time or the distances and categories available.

Registration Still Open

Registration for the ASICS Relay Malaysia 2018 has been extended till 14th September and runners can still sign up at http://www.asicsrelayreg.com/2018my/army18/reg_army18/.
