ASICS RELAY Is Back, Promising An Unforgettable Night Running Experience

Launching in June this year, the ASICS RELAY 2019 Series will be back with a brand new logo, a regional ambassador and an updated website – and is set to promise runners a completely unforgettable running experience.

Series Kick Off Jakarta, Indonesia

ASICS RELAY 2019 will kick off in Jakarta, Indonesia on 29 June and this is followed by Bangkok, Thailand on 3 August, then Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 7 September, before concluding in Singapore on 12 October.

And across the four cities, each event will consist of two race distances – the 42KM Full Marathon and the 21KM Half Marathon.

In teams of four, runners can choose from three relay categories – Male, Female and Mixed Team, where each member must run 10.5KM for the Full Marathon category and 5.25KM for the Half Marathon category, to meet the total distance.

Malaysian Edition At Sepang International Circuit

The Malaysian edition will be taking place at Sepang International Circuit, promising a brand new and different race experience to all running enthusiasts.

I took part in the ASICS Relay Malaysia last year, running a combined 42KM with my team there and we had a really great time. So it would be great to experience the festivities that ASICS Relay has in store for its runners later this year.

Exciting Post-Race Activities And Previews

Beyond the race, runners can also look forward to exciting activities and previews from the event’s local partners and sponsors at the race village. Participants will also be entitled to a Finisher’s Medal, personalised race bib and an exclusive ASICS Race T-Shirt.

Park Sang-Hyun aka Thunder Is Regional Ambassador

And the much-touted regional ambassador is South Korean singer, Park Sang-Hyun aka Thunder, and he will be running in one of the four ASICS RELAY 2019 races.

The ASICS Dream Team

Running alongside him will also be the ASICS Dream Team consisting of celebrities from the four countries – with Olivia Jensen representing Indonesia, Toey Pongsakorn for Thailand, Jasmine Suraya for Malaysia and Zong Zi Jie representing Singapore.

They will be taking part in all four of the ASICS RELAY 2019 Series events together, as a team and at the event, each of them will represent their own city.
