In conjunction with GetActive! Singapore, Decathlon Singapore is organising their first 7KM race, which will be held on 4 August 2019.

Originally established in 1976 and headquartered in France, Decathlon’s first store in Singapore opened in January 2016 at Viva Business Park Bedok and have since expanded to City Square Mall, FairPrice Hub Joo Koon and Singapore Lab Kallang.

Said Decathlon Singapore Managing Director Nils Swolkien, “Being part of GetActive! Singapore is a logical consequence of the vision we share with Sport Singapore. With the 7KM race, we hope to demonstrate how fun and accessible running can be.”

Ideal For Both Beginners and Experienced Runners

The unique distance is idea for beginners looking to run their first race and for experienced runners looking to beat their personal best. 

And through the running event, the brand aims to encourage running enthusiasts of varying fitness levels, aligned with Decathlon’s goal of making sports more accessible to the masses.

Team Spirt Encouraged 

And furthermore, to encourage team spirit, runners are given the chance to share a tag by registering as a pair, with the purpose of spurring each other to complete the run.

Run Starts At Decathlon Lab

The 7KMN run will begin at Decathlon Lab in Kallang, covering the National Stadium vicinity throughout the route.

And the race marshals will also be represented by Decathlon team mates in their signature blue and white vests.

A Two-Day Carnival 

As part of Get Active! Singapore, there will also be a two-day sports carnival that will happen throughout the weekend on 3rd and 4th August. 

Free Training

And free race training programmes, curated with ActiveHealth, as well as a special online coaching programme on the Decathlon Coach App, will be held for participants of the race.

Race Registration 

Registration for the race begins at S$25 per pax, and this includes the race pack, comprising of Decathlon’s best-selling 10L backpack, running tee shirt, towel, and a nutrition bar. 

And runners can also pick their preferred Decathlon store for race pack collection convenience.
