This Christmas 2019, health food company Amazin’Graze is launching the Merry Gift Box, consisting of three holiday snacks with their limited-edition festive flavours. From crunchy to rich and creamy, the brand has everything covered, for treats this holiday season.

Branded as an Asian purveyor of fun, yummy and healthy snacks, Amazin’Graze hopes to change the way that we snack, with their focus being on sourcing for fresh, healthy foods and nutritious ingredients for their granolas, nut mixes and butter spreads.

The company prides themselves on producing snacks that contain only natural ingredients and are high in fibre and proteins, vegetarian, and containing no added refined sugars.

What The Merry Gift Box Contains

Thanks to Amazin’Graze, I received a sneak preview of the Merry Gift Box, each of which contains the following:

• Frosted Cinnamon Nut Mix (100g)
• Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Bites (100g)
• Jubilee Apple Crumble Granola (150g)

The package arrived at my doorstep a few days ago – in a colourful Christmas-themed box and each canister of snack had been individually packaged carefully, within a paper canister each bearing Christmas colours such as red, green and blue.

And with the Christmas trees drawn onto the cover of the box too, I have to say that the package definitely brought me in the Christmas mood.

Packaging and Storage 

I couldn’t wait to taste the snacks, and all three of them are delicious. In fact, my only gripe is that each pack is so small.

While you can definitely buy larger 500g packets of the standard Amazin’Graze granola flavours, it appears that the Christmas snacks are only available in the smaller pack size.

However I have to point out that storing the snacks within the original canisters may not be the best way to preserve the crunchiness and freshness of the snacks – if they are going to last longer than a couple of days in your house.

This is because the lids of the three canisters don’t close tightly and I have to push them down really hard, in order to close them properly. Instead, I would recommend to keep them in an airtight container so that they will stay fresh for longer.

Trying Out The Snacks

My first taste of Amazin’Graze’s festive snacks had been after I’d got home from a recent evening training run – when I’d been feeling peckish and had been looking for something healthy to refuel myself with.

As the name suggests, the Frosted Cinnamon Nut Mix consists of roasted pecans, almonds and pepitas warmly glazed with cinnamon spice and sweet molasses.

I found this to be a delicious and filling snack. Upon opening the package, the glazing actually causes the nuts sticking together, so instead of individual nuts, the result appears to be clumps of mixed nuts that are all combined together.

The first thing that I noted about this snack, when I popped a handful into my mouth, was the crunchiness from the nuts. If you love crunchy snacks and are looking for something healthier than potato chips, then you should give these a go.

In terms of the taste, I can detect a hint of cinnamon. Cinnamon always makes me think of Christmas, so I have to say that this is definitely apt for the upcoming festive season. 

There is also a nutty flavour apparent, but I am not able to discern exactly which nut is which when I munch on these, because of the cinnamon glazing.

As well, the Nut Mix has a mildly sweet aftertaste which goes nicely with the cinnamon flavour, but without overpowering my senses.

Altogether, this is a delightful snack that I would continue to reach for – in order to satisfy my sugar cravings.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Bites consist of indulgent oat-based fudge squares adorned with creamy peanut butter, dark chocolate, chia seeds and cashews. 

To me, this seems like a healthier version of chocolate brownies. 

The Fudge Bites have a dry and slightly crumbly texture that appears to be somewhat between a soft cookie and a cake, combined with a rich, dense and satisfying chocolate flavour. I love anything chocolate, so this snack certainly appeals to me. 

In between mouthfuls of the dark chocolate flavouring, I could pick up a very slight hint of sweet dates from the brownies – probably because date syrup was used in the making process.

But while I can feel the roughness coming from the usage of the chia seeds and the cashew nuts on my tongue when I am eating the Fudge Bites, the flavours of these ingredients do not come out, possibly because they’re been drowned out by the more intense chocolate flavour.

Nonetheless, I now know what I can munch on during this Christmas season, whenever the chocolate cravings strike me. Unfortunately though, this means that the 100g canister probably won’t last very long in my house, then.

And finally, the Jubilee Apple Crumble Granola Bites, as the name suggests, consist of traditional rolled oats, rice puffs, pecans, almonds and flax seed graciously coated with warm spices and creamy apple sauce.

I thought that having a fruit-pie flavour combination is ideal for the festive season – because Christmas tends to be synonymous with sweet pies.

And indeed, upon taking a handful of these to munch on, the first thing that hit me was a strong apple-cinnamon taste, which immediately reminded me of freshly-baked apple pies. I always love tucking into a good apple pie, so this snack definitely appealed to my taste buds.

In terms of the texture, the granola bites are very crunchy – and that makes them satisfying. They are great to munch on their own, sprinkled on top of fruit and yoghurt, or else poured into a bowl with milk.

My Thoughts

Overall I have to say that Amazin’Graze has done a great job in combining the festive flavours of the Christmas season into a lovely spread of tasty, yet healthy and nutritious snacks – for Singaporeans to munch on, guilt-free, during those lull periods in-between meals. These snacks have my approval in terms of yumminess.
