Join me in Spacebib’s Run for Singapore 2020 and Unite Against Covid-19 this National Day

Created by Spacebib, Run For Singapore 2020 is an online running event that celebrates Singapore’s 55th National Day by encouraging participants to get active and hit a total of 55,000kms cumulatively.

There are two different categories, a 5.5km and 55km individual run and participants have about two months, that is from 1st August to 30th September, to clock their selected mileage.

This being an online event, participants can run or walk anywhere they want, and upload their GPS data to the system.

All runners of any nationality, not only Singaporeans, are welcomed to join this event, and unite as one Singapore, in celebration of our nation’s 55th birthday.

Besides GPS watches and running apps, pedometers and indoor treadmills are also accepted. This is to encourage participants to exercise indoors as well as outdoors.

There are three tiers for both categories – Basic, Classic and Premium and the goodie bag varies for each tier. Basic registration rates start from $12.98 and all participants will receive a Finisher’s Medal.

For the Premium tier (S$45.98), you will also receive a Running Singlet, Finisher T-Shirt and a Distance Running Coin – so that you can show your support for Singapore when you are out running.

I have joined the 55km event (Premium) and I hope to see you take part in this event as well.

This is because with Covid-19 running rampant around the world, and Singapore not being spared from the wrath of the coronavirus either, this is the perfect time to come together and show how strong and resilient we are, as one nation, one Singapore.

We might not be able to come together physically and celebrate Singapore’s birthday, but let’s all unite virtually in clocking 55,000kms. Covid-19 will eventually be beaten one day, but Singaporeans are resilient and will never let this virus define us.

Let’s do it for Singapore.
