Earlier today, Krispy Kreme opened their second store in Singapore. There was a launch party, with prizes given away to lucky Krispy Kreme fans.

Members of the media were invited to try out these donuts.

Barely seconds after opening, there are already plenty of people inside Krispy Kreme’s second Singapore store

So I took this opportunity to taste the seasonal “Choco Mania” flavours. I also tasted the unique “Jenny Lim” donut – available only at Krispy Kreme’s Income at Raffles store in the CBD.

Here is how the tasting fared.

Jenny Lim

The Jenny Lim donut.

This is the special Krispy Kreme donut that is named after Jenny Lim, the winner of the Krispy Kreme “Be an office hero” contest, where contestants were asked to say why they are office heroes.

It is a double chocolate Oreo donut, containing chocolate icing and topped with white chocolate curls. To complete the pretty decorations, the donut has a large Oreo cookie right in the middle.

The melt-in-your-mouth chocolate went very well together with the fluffy donut. In fact, it was so good that I almost finished the entire donut.

Icing Chocolate Curls

This has white chocolate icing, topped with dark chocolate curls. I thought the white and dark decorations provided good contrasting colours.

It was quite yummy. The mouth-watering chocolate curls went very well with the soft and fluffy donut. I would definitely have this donut flavour again.

Chocolate Cookie Crunch

I thought this was delicious. The donut is topped with chocolate flavoured icing. Oreo cookies are sprinkled on the top.

These cookies add a delicious crunchy texture to the donut, which I enjoyed. As well, it wasn’t as sweet as some of the other flavours. So it is definitely a donut I would buy again.

Caramel Meringue Decadence

A caramel-filled donut that is coated with chocolate and topped with a layer of meringue cream, this is definitely a donut for the sweet-toothed.

And a very generous amount of caramel immediately oozes out when you bite into it. Together with the abundant chocolate coating and the sugary meringue, I thought this was a sweet donut. And if you are suffering from serious sugar cravings, one of these will satisfy you perfectly.

Double Chocolate Custard

Chocolate fanatics will definitely love this. Like the name suggests, this is a chocolate custard stuffed donut and is coated with an additional layer of chocolate.

A generous amount of rich chocolate custard oozes out when I bite into it. Sharing this donut with a fellow chocoholic friend would be good, as having one to myself may be a tad too sweet.
