During his lifetime, the late Robin Williams had touched and entertained many lives as a talented actor, comedian, film producer and screenwriter.
Unfortunately though, Williams, who also suffered from depression and alcohol abuse, passed away on August 11, 2014. He was found dead in his home, in a suspected suicide case. He was 63 years old.
Leading roles in TV shows and movies
Williams originally burst onto the global stage as the character Mork in the TV show Mork & Mindy – about an extra-terrestrial alien coming to Earth and befriending a 21-year-old human girl, Mindy, who quickly becomes his companion and friend.
Since then, he had taken on leading roles in well-acclaimed films such as Popeye (1980), Good Morning Vietnam (1987) and Dead Poet’s Society (1989).
He was also nominated for the Best Actor Oscar award three times and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his sterling performance in Good Will Hunting, an American drama movie.
