(TO PREVIOUS PAGE) And soon enough, the two Jedi padawan were slowly circling the midnight-black sky of Mordor, looking for a place to land, but they were high enough so that they could not be seen from the ground. They could clearly see the Sith Shelter spreadeagled below them. It was made of fortified iron and coated with special reinforced cladding to make it completely impregnable and impenetrable from the outside.
And it was at that very moment, when Ron decided to take out a pair of Omnioculars, which he suddenly remembered was hidden deep inside his backpack. For some reason, he had just sensed that he needed to check whether the coast was clear, before landing.
And it was thanks to his ‘forgotten’ Omnioculars that Ron clearly saw the figures of the two Jedi Masters, Dumbledore and Qui Gon, hiding within a dark corner behind a rock and taking care not to be spotted by unwanted eyes, while at the same time, waving frantically at the two padawan to try and get their attention. They seemed to be holding someone captive, but Ron couldn’t quite make out who, due to the darkness. But most probably an evil Sith, he thought to himself.
“Hey Hermione! Dumbledore and Qui Gon are here!” Ron whispered excitedly to his co-pilot, “They’re waving at us – see through these Omnioculars,” he added excitedly.
Hermione did just that, and it put a smile to her face. “So, we’re not in trouble for ditching school, I gather,” she laughed, and happily patted Ron’s back, attempting to diffuse the seriousness of the situation they had gotten themselves into.
And feeling that she and Ron were safe, she descended, until the spaceship was hovering directly above the ground, and she could see the two Jedi Masters almost without the Omniculars.
Dumbledore motioned towards a slightly burnt-out patch of grass where Hermione could land the spaceship. And the young Jedi padawan did just that.
Then she and Ron climbed out of the spaceship, and jogged towards the figures of Dumbledore and Qui Gon. They were most definitely a welcoming presence, Ron thought.
And, that was when the two padawan discovered the identity of the Jedi Masters’ “prisoner”, whose wand and lightsabre had obviously been taken away. His hands had also been tied up behind his back so that he wouldn’t cause any trouble.
He was a skinny, angular teenage boy of their age, with platinum-blond hair, pale skin, and an unmistakably familiar pointy chin.
Yes, he was none other than their old nemeses at Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy.
It came as a bit of a surprise to Hermione and Ron. That filthy pureblood scumbag was a Sith too? They both wondered when Draco had become apprenticed.
Dumbledore noticed Ron and Hermione staring incredulously at Draco.
“Yes, Draco’s a Sith apprentice, like we are Jedi. I think his dad took him on as an apprentice a couple of years back, when he discovered that his son was highly Force-sensitive,” Dumbledore explained, “Anyway, I got the exact same note that you received this morning, signed by Darth Sauron too. And I knew that I had to quickly come here and save Harry, no matter what it took. After all, he’s important to both the Jedi as well as the wizarding world, and he cannot be killed. I hope to rescue him in time. I guessed exactly where you went this morning, when Minerva told me that you had skipped her Transfiguration class this morning, and looks like I was right.” (TO NEXT PAGE)
