Honeypeachsg is an online bakery in Singapore that prides themselves on creating pretty customised designed cake for birthdays, weddings and corporate events.

Honeypeachsg recently reached out to me to try some of their cakes and desserts.

Delivery was arranged and the goodies arrived at my doorstep promptly, and in perfect condition, well within the delivery window as scheduled.

What I tried

The items that I tried, and my comments on them, are as follows.

Royal Crown Cake – Double Chocolate Crunch ($117)

This is a beautiful white cake exquisitely decorated with golden balls and a gorgeous gold crown, fit for royalty. 

It comes in a wide choice of flavours, ranging from chocolate banana, speculoos, matcha white chocolate, earl grey lavender and vanilla lemon curd.

I am a chocoholic, so I picked the double chocolate crunch flavour. 

When the cake first arrived, I fell in love with how amazing and pretty the cake looked. Honeypeachsg definitely impressed me with their cake design and appearance.

It was way too beautiful to eat and I didn’t want to cut it up at first.

But after admiring the cake for way too long, I eventually got around to cutting up and trying the cake.  

The cake texture is soft and light and it is easy on the palette. Basically it is a chocolate sponge cake. I quite enjoyed the crunchy chocolate pieces embedded inside the cream in between the three layers of the sponge; they added a slight crispy texture to the cake.

The white frosting exterior added a tinge of sweetness too, when eaten together with the chocolate cake.

After leaving the cake overnight in the fridge, the texture of the sponge does harden somewhat, but this doesn’t really change the flavour. 

I would like to comment, however, that the golden baubles (both the large and small ones) and crown decorations appear to be made of plastic or styrofoam and are not edible. The tiny baby ones, however, are candies which can be eaten.

While the cake does look absolutely gorgeous with these on, it would have been better if the decorations, especially the smaller baubles, were made of chocolate instead as that would make them edible. If this cake is ordered for a children’s birthday party, they may be a choking hazard. 

Assorted Gourmet Regular Cupcakes – Box of 12 ($41)

Described as being perfect for birthday or party celebrations or simply to share with your loved ones, these cupcakes come in a range of popular flavours such as double chocolate, vanilla raspberry, hojicha white chocolate and speculoos.

The two flavours we selected were speculoos and vanilla raspberry.

The cupcakes are pretty too, complete with cream topping and mini decorations. They may not be as intricate looking as the cakes, but they are still lovely. 

I noted that the flavouring of the cupcakes was restricted to the cream topping only. Otherwise the base was just standard plain/chocolate cupcakes.

Biting into the plain cupcake, it was spongy, soft and moist, just as described. 

The vanilla raspberry topping was on the plain cupcakes. This cream added a light fruity flavour to the plain cupcake, which complemented it well. It was just right, not too sweet.

The chocolate cupcake had the speculoos topping and as such, each cupcake came with a full-sized lotus biscoff cookie as decoration. It was pretty and a feast for the eyes.

The chocolate cupcake had a slight hint of chocolate flavour, which is mild and not strong.  

The speculoos flavour in the cream is very subtle and gentle on the palette. It does complement the chocolate flavoured cupcake well, but I did wish the flavour profile could have been a tad stronger.

I also noted that the texture of this chocolate cupcake was coarser than the plain cupcake and the lotus biscoff cookie decoration was soft on arrival.   

Best Classic Moist Fudge Brownies ($18)

These brownies are described by Honeypeachsg as being the best fudgy chocolate brownies you’ll ever have, complete with a fudgy moist centre and a crispy, crackly top, thanks to their secret recipe.

We kept the brownies refrigerated and microwaved them for about 15 seconds before eating.

Biting into one of the brownies, I was able to detect a strong chocolate flavour. The texture is dense and gooey and soft and almost melts in the mouth. It is definitely good and brownie lovers will enjoy these. I have to say that this is one of the better brownies that I’ve tried. 

Macarons – Box of 5 ($10)

These are classic macarons with assorted flavours such as double chocolate, earl grey, speculoos and cookies & cream. 

The whimsical pastel colours of the macarons are very pretty and the colour combinations reminded me of unicorns and rainbows.  

Biting into one, the outer shell is chewy, with some texture and bite. I enjoyed it – this is exactly how I like my macarons. 

However the flavours of the various fillings were mild and not very distinctive.

For instance, the double chocolate one had a very mild chocolate note which I could only detect after a couple of mouthfuls when I focused on trying to pick up the flavour, and the earl grey one didn’t have very strong tea notes either. 

The macarons are a tad sweet but the sweetness, in my opinion, is palatable and not overpowering. 

Brookies ($20 for 10pcs)

The name comes about because this is supposed to be a combination of super chewy brownies and crunchy cookies, according to honeypeachsg. 

We found this to be very pleasant to eat and we enjoyed it. The chocolate flavour is strong but not overpowering. The texture is soft and chewy, with a good bite to it. 

Conclusion

Honeypeachsg definitely lives up to their promise of making beautiful and gorgeous looking themed cakes suitable for birthdays and celebrations. Designs available range from mermaid, fairy and princess, to galaxy and space themes.

Delivery fees are also affordable, at $9.90 for orders below $150 and free for orders above $150.
