Onitsuka Tiger has introduced two new shoe models for the Autumn-Winter 2017 collection.
These are the Monte Z and Monte Creace, and both shoes allow the wearer to express their individual style and are updated versions of the Monte Pokhara, the classic shoe launched in 2009 and inspired by mountaineering shoes.
Onitusuka Tiger is a sports fashion brand that fuses Asics’ detail tradition with a fashion twist.
Founded in 1949 in Japan, the brand began with a commitment to promoting youth health and since then, the Tiger stripes have become associated with one of the world’s most well known athletic brands, with designs ranging from classic silhouettes to refreshing new styles and collaborations with like-minded artists and cultural connoisseurs.
Monte Z
The Monte Z is both minimal and stylish, capturing the outdoor feel of the Monte Pokhara. The laces can be arranged in different patterns, allowing the wearer to express his or her individual style with customised looks.
The upper was inspired by the look and feel of the classic Japanese kimono. The stylish look is emphasised in the monotone colour and sophisticated silhouette.
It comes in two different colours – Feather Grey and Black.
This shoe retails at S$169 and will be available in Singapore from August 2017. It can be bought at the Onitsuka Tiger Vivocity and the LeftFoot stores.
Monte Creace
On the other hand, the Monte Creace is a modern version of the Monte Pokhara, and was inspired by 1950s mountaineering shoes. It has laces that pass through loops along the side, circling around the shoes.
The lacing styles too, can be customised according to individual preferences, to change the look and feel of the shoe.
The Monte Creace has also been designed with an easy to wear monosock undertone and this gives the shoe a sophisticated silhouette.
This shoe comes in two colours – Aluminium and Black.
The retail price is S$169 and the shoe will be available in Singapore from September 2017 onwards. It can be bought at the Onitsuka Tiger VivoCity and the Limited Edt stores.
