Review: Sigmund Home’s Ergonomic Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow For Restorative Sleep

Optimised for maximum comfort and restorative sleep, the Sigmund Home Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is the result of years of research and endless sleep trials.

The perfect balance between comfort and support, this 100% hypoallergenic pillow is advertised as being fluffy and soft as a cloud, yet still firm enough to provide you with support at the same time.

According to Sigmund Home, the gentle contours of the pillow are also angled to support and cushion the spine and neck.

Made from the pulp of the Eucalyptus trees, every detail of the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is supposedly scrutinised to provide you with the best pillow possible for restorative sleep.

Sigmund Home recently reached out to me for a collaboration to review their Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow.

Ordering the pillow was very easy. The website is uncluttered and easy to use and navigate. The pillow itself was delivered promptly the next day, arriving in a cute reusable bag.

I have been sleeping on the pillow for the past couple weeks or so.

Personally, I found the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow to be a relatively firm pillow when I placed my head on it to sleep. After all, the website does describe the texture of this pillow as being ‘medium firm.”

I am used to a soft latex pillow and thus, it took me a while to get used to the firmer Ergo Foam pillow.

As well, I have also found that the pillow tends to sink down very easily and it takes a while for it to regain its original shape. When I sat on the pillow, it took about a minute or two for the impression that I had caused, to disappear.

While others may have found the pillow soft and cottony, I guess that perceptions of a pillow are relative and varies according to each individual.

But I could feel the substantial neck support during my sleep – as advertised. According to Sigmund Home, ordinary pillows do not support the spine, leading to an unnatural curvature that may cause more problems in the long term.

On the other hand, the contours and curvature of the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is designed to provide maximum support for the spine and neck to ensure that they stay aligned, supposedly keeping you comfortable.

If you like to sleep on your back, the M-shaped contour definitely helps to provide more support to your neck and less weight exerted on the back of your head, supposedly a more relaxed position.

How has my sleep quality been on the pillow? Personally, I can’t say that my sleep last week has been the best or most restorative in terms of the quality. I have been feeling a little lethargic upon waking up and I did feel some slight backaches on one of the nights.

But this could have been due to varying reasons. Early mornings, lack of hours of sleep, or long days, may also have been the cause behind this, rather than the pillow.

So I guess I should probably see how the pillow helps with my sleep when I feel more well-rested and less tired to begin with.

Sigmund Home’s Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is available on their website at https://sigmundhome.com/product/ergo-foam-tencel-pillow/ and is currently retailing at a discounted price of S$99.
