The online auditions for the third season of Asia’s Got Talent are now open at www.AXN-Asia.com/AsiasGotTalent.
Created by Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and co-produced by Syco Entertainment and Fremantle Media, the Got Talent franchise is entered in the Guinness World Records as the Most Successful Reality Television Format in history, with more than 70 local versions across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa and the Americas.
The Asian auditions are open to aspiring performers of any age, background and with any dream. Dancing, acrobatics, magic, comedy, athletic feats, singing, musical instruments, whatever it is, the producers are interested.
Said Derek Wong, Vice President of production, SONY Pictures Television Networks, “Shock us, amaze us, thrill us and take a chance on your future. AXN offers performers from more than 15 countries in Asia, with the world’s largest platform in which to amplify their careers.”
He added, “The finalists featured in our first two seasons have gone on to perform internationally, which is a testament to the power of Asia’s Got Talent in launching new, exciting talent around the world.”
Last season’s winner of Asia’s Got Talent, The Sacred Riana, was discovered in Indonesia and became an overnight viral sensation, mesmerising and terrifying audiences with her spooky illusions. She achieved more than 70 million collective views on Facebook and YouTube too.
Continued Wong, “The Sacred Riana was not your typical talent act but she captured the imagination of millions of AXN viewers across the region who voted for her.”
He added, “I hope Riana will inspire a new generation of performers to take the first step into pursuing their dreams and submit their auditions online.”
I was at the grand finals, which was held last year at Marina Bay Sands, and I witnessed Riana’s performance live on stage. It had been enthralling and terrifying at the same time and kept me completely captivated right to the end of her act.
Though I had previously seen her YouTube performance videos prior to the live show and had thought that they were mind-boggling, it had been something else altogether, to watch her performing in the theatre.
I am now eagerly awaiting the next season of Asia’s Got Talent to find out what acts it will bring.
Aspiring performers can submit their applications from now till July 9, 2018. Each audition video should be two minutes long and should include a short introduction of the performer and their act.
AXN will also hold a series of open auditions in major cities across the region beginning June. Cities, dates and venues will be announced in the coming weeks via AXN’s TV channel and via social media.
