Considered as Mother Nature’s most powerful antioxidant, natural astaxanthin can be found contained in marine life organisms such as lobsters, salmon, shrimps and crabs and it has many benefits, including protecting the central nervous system, the brain and eyes too.
As well, is also 6,000 times stronger than Vitamin C and 560 times stronger than green tea and catechins (type of antioxidant). And it offers protection against the harmful UltraViolet rays that is found in sunlight, too.
However astaxanthin is available in very small quantities in nature, thus making it very hard to get a daily intake of concentrated natural astaxathin from food alone.
For instance, you would have to eat the meat from 10 crabs just to get in your daily recommended dosage of astaxanthin, which is 12mg per day.
Taking Astavita’s Astaxanthin
So this is where Astavita’s astaxanthin comes into the equation.
Extracted from Haematococcus pluvialis, a natural freshwater algae grown under the company’s strict controls in the United States to prevent contamination by dirt or other unwanted substances, Astavita’s astaxathin is now easily available in Singapore and can be purchased online at https://astavita.sg.
To get 12mg per day, the recommended dosage of the Astavita capsules is two soft gels per day, preferably taken after food.
My Experiences
Personally, I have been taking Astavita’s astaxanthin capsules for about two years now as an ambassador for Astavita, and I can definitely feel the positive effects at work during my running, training and recovery.
For instance, I have found that since taking these capsules, I haven’t fallen ill much at all, and my immune system also seems to be stronger these days, in keeping away and fighting the flu bug.
The last time that I had a bad case of the flu bug had been in March 2017, and that was before I had discovered the benefits and the powers of astaxanthin. At the time, I had been sick for about two to three weeks and I felt really lousy.
Nowadays though, besides getting sick less often, I’m also able to recover faster and better after my runs compared to before, so I am able to clock the mileage more easily and frequently, and I have not been injured either. I definitely feel that this is partly due to the astaxanthin that I have been taking.
As well, I feel that astaxanthin has the power to boost my running performances too – by December 2017, which had been less than one year after going on astaxanthin, I set new personal best timings in the 10km, half marathon and the full marathon distances too.
And now come 2019, I hope that with my training programmes with Coached, together with my Astavita astaxanthin supplements, can spur me on to break my limits in the Marathon, beginning with the Nagoya Marathon in Japan this March and then the world-famous London Marathon in the United Kingdom one month later, in April.
