Clarke Quay Singapore’s iconic Fountain Square turned into Lights, Music and Party Extravaganza with more than 30,000 party-goers ringing in the New Year in high spirits at the New Year’s Eve Countdown @ Clarke Quay.
The Main Stage area had been lit with a dazzling show of LED lights, optical displays and animations that not only immersed revellers in a world of illumination, but also had many seeing double.
With the help of the ChromaDepth 3D glasses that were handed out freely, tourists and locals alike, soaked up the light show and festive atmosphere.
The music entertainment consisted of high-energy, all-singaporean rock outfit Shirlyn + The UnXpected belting out popular songs to an effervescent crowd who sang along enthusiastically.
And then with 15 minutes to go till midnight, Gerald Koh and Kimberly Wang from MediaCorp’s 987FM stirred up the crowd with their infectious energy and enthusiasm, prepping them for the stroke of midnight and the traditional singing of Auld Lang Syne.
But the night was far from over.
That’s because the merry making had continued well into the wee hours of the morning at bars and clubs around Clarke Quay such as Zouk, Yang Club, FClub x Attica, Get Juiced, and Live at the Crossroads – all of which had ramped up their entertainment line-up to accommodate the thousands of party-goers who were far from done and still looking to continue their celebrations.
Said Adrian Lai, Centre Manager, Clarke Quay, “We want to take this opportunity to thank our patrons for sharing their moments of fun with us in 2019. With a brand new decade now upon us, visitors can look forward to a slew of more entertaining lifestyle content for a year of great vibes in 2020.”
