To encourage Singaporeans to take charge of their health beyond counting steps and calories, Great Eastern has launched FitAge, a new feature addition to their health and wellness app, GetGreat, for a more holistic calculation on a person’s fitness level.
An arbitrary figure of a person’s fitness age
FitAge, an arbitrary figure of a person’s fitness versus their actual biological age, is based on a person’s level of physical activity, cardiovascular fitness level and sleep sufficiency.
FitAge scores will help users to gauge their cardiovascular health, track their fitness levels and recognise the early signs of the onset of major health issues due to lack of sleep or exercise.
Great Eastern is the first insurer in Singapore to incorporate resting heart rate metric to measure the efficiency of a person’s heart function and his levels of physical fitness, and provide an app that actively helps users track their daily steps, sleep and resting heart rate.
A timely and convenient add-on
With the growing trend of the usage of mobile apps, fitness trackers and smart watches, incorporating FitAge onto the GetGreat App is a timely and convenient add-on to track one’s physical training data and health stats.
Said Ryan Cheong, Managing Director, Digital for Business, Great Eastern, “Our aim has always been to put our customers first and to go beyond just insurance to bring them exciting everyday interactions and experiences.”
Great Eastern hopes FitAge will inspire healthy lifestyle changes
Cheong continued, “Through FitAge, users will be motivated to stay healthy. We are pleased to provide our GREAT Life Advantage Policyholders with more reasons to stay healthy and we hope that this will inspire long-lasting healthy lifestyle changes for customers and their families.”
GetGreat users who log 8,000 steps, 7 – 9 hours of sleep and a resting heart rate of 64 beats per minute and under daily, will be rewarded with Stars, or bonus points, which can then be redeemed for rewards through GetGreat’s sister app, UpGreat.
Rewards and incentives
Additional Stars will be awarded to policyholders of Great Eastern’s GREAT Life Advantage investment-linked plan based on their policy’s total sum assured amount and can stand to earn up to $110 worth of rewards from now till end 2020.
Incentives for GetGreat users include cash vouchers that can be redeemed at a myriad of physical and online stores, such as FairPrice, Best Denki, Grab and Cathay Cineplexes.
