Measure the length of your forearm – that is, from the crook of your elbow to your wrist – against your foot or your shoe.
Did you try that out for yourself just now? What was your result?
In a bizarre trend that initially took off some time back on social media channels in China, millennials snapped photos of themselves measuring their feet against their forearm. The crazy but interesting trend had been sparked by Detective Conan, who is an anime character from Case Closed, and who had said that a person’s foot should be the same length as their forearms.
Interestingly, for about 80 per cent of people, their toes turned out to be in perfect alignment with their wrist and the end of their forearm.
For the other 20 per cent of people, their forearms were either too long, or their feet were too big.
I first heard about this rather bizarre “fact” of the human body when some of my friends and I were talking about this and debating it over a recent meal during the recent festive season.
I was quite sceptical that this was really true, so I admit that I tested this out for myself.
For the record, I was among the majority. The length of my shoe and the length of my forearm did line up perfectly.
It definitely takes some degree of flexibility to get your actually foot in line with your forearm!
This interesting nugget of information falls in line with some of the other weird and bizarre facts of the human body – such as how you cannot lick your elbow. I wonder how many of you tried that? And who actually succeeded?
Hey! can you help me for how to get copyrighted images?
