Last Friday afternoon, the virtual awards presentation ceremony took place on zoom for the Singapore Website Awards 2020.
Recognising the best web developers, agencies and designers
Organised by the Exabytes Group Of Companies, which is a Leading Web Hosting Provider in Southeast Asia, the awards aim to recognise the best web developers, agencies and designers in the region.
The awards were made up of three categories, and these are commercial, personal and e-commerce with monthly winners as well as an overall Site of the Year winner for each category. As well, there was a popular website category too, for the websites which have garnered the most number of votes.
Being a personal blog website, PrisChew Dot Com easily falls under the personal category.
Ceremony kicks off
Once all participants were online, ceremony kicked off with keynote presentations from leaders in the web industry, ranging from SEO specialists to business practitioners.
In between the keynote presentations, all of which were informative and educational, the award winners were announced, beginning with the commercial category.
Prischew Dot Com is Site of the Month – March (Personal Category)
The personal category was second to be announced and my website was the winner for the month of March. Being one of the winners, I gave a short acceptance speech of thanks.
I admit that it felt rather strange to be receiving an award via zoom rather than in-person, no thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it was nonetheless an honour to be recognised for the work that I have put into my humble blog website to get it to where it is today.
The ceremony continued on with the remainder of the keynote speakers, before moving onto the popular categories and the Site of the Year awards and finally concluding with e-group photos.
Trophy and prize sent out to us
Following the ceremony, the trophy and prize was sent out to all winners’ addresses. This may not be the same as receiving the prize in-person on stage, but it is the best that we can do during these difficult times.
Thanks to Exabytes for making this possible
Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, I have thank Exabytes, once again, for putting in this effort to recognise our websites and for making these awards possible.
