I recently got my hands on Gaston Luga’s Lillen backpack, one of the newer designs in Gaston Luga’s backpack range.

There are four colours available for Lillen: Black/Brown, Black, Black/Sand and Hawthorne Pink.

It was a close fight between Black/Brown and Hawthorne Pink. 

Usually, I always love all things pink, but this time, I had decided to go for the Black/Brown colour because this neutral colour tone would be easier to match with my wardrobe and is suited to both formal outings as well as casual ones. The pink bag had a more casual feeling to it.

My Lillen backpack arrived about a week after the order had been placed, which I thought is quite fast.

True to the Gaston Luga brand, the Lillen looks sleek and cool. The Black/Brown colour combination is gender-neutral and it is a bag that I fell in love with the moment that I took it out of the box.

Measuring 35 x 20 x 34 (CM) the Lillen has a net weight of 0.65kg and an inner volume of 13L. 

It is fully lined and made of a mixture of lightweight nylon and PU leather and has an inner compartment that is big enough to fit an 11 – 13 inch laptop.

My Macbook is 11 inches, so when I need to bring it along to work on the go, there is also more than enough space for it, as well as a ton of other stuff.

I don’t exactly carry my laptop everywhere I go, but on the occasions when I need to, having a separate place just for my laptop means that it is easy to take it out and put it back into the bag.

What I best like about the Lillen is the numerous compartments in the backpack.

There is one large zippered section with an inner laptop compartment, as well as a front compartment, which is also zippered. There is also two unzippered side compartments that are perfect to store small, non-valuable items such as a water bottle, a packet of tissues, or a mask.

I tried for myself, and I found out that the zippered compartment in front of the bag will just about squeeze an iPhone XS Max, meaning that I won’t need to store my iPhone into the main compartment. 

So this therefore gives me easy access to my phone and I am happy about that.

As well, having multiple compartments in the bag means that I can segregate my valuables easily, and won’t wind up digging through one big, massive compartment to search for small items i.e. my house keys. 

This is what I love most about the Gaston Luga bags.

And another perk about Gaston Luga’s Lillen backpack is the slip-over luggage strap at the back, designed for easy traveling.

We may not be able to travel now due to Covid-19, but when borders are opened up once again, this feature will definitely come in handy when I take the Lillen out on my travels. I miss traveling.

I can foresee that it will surely make things so much easier, to handle both my suitcase and Lillen backpack at the same time.
