Last night, it was a spectacular celebration from dusk to dawn at the Siloso Beach Party for the 15,000 party goers – with plenty of entertainment and more than 20 international and local DJs taking the decks across the five party zones for 12 hours straight.
The five party zones delivered a memorable experience. Fitness junkies at Wave House Sentosa rode wave after wave in tandem with progressive house and electric remixes, while self-declared beach bums lounged the night away on the beach deck chairs at the Bikini Bar, Coastes & Sand Bar accompanied by smooth ambient and progressive music.
Highlight of the line-up was international DJ Mike Candys
The highlight of the entire entertainment line-up, was certainly the Zurich-raised Mike Candys – who most certainly left an impression on many party goer.
Said Mohit Dobariya, a 27-year-old shop manager, “Mike Candys is my favourite DJ – and apart from seeing him in action, it was a dream come true, getting his handshake and autograph too.”
Candys’ first gig at the Siloso Beach Party
For Candys, this year’s event marked his debut gig at the Siloso Beach Party. He said, “I’m really excited to be the first international DJ to play on this stage. The crowd was huge and they definitely looked like they were having a blast dancing along to the music.”
Added Candys, “The party-goers were in such high spirits and I really enjoyed performing for them.”
Other international and local
DJs also took to the stage
Besides Candys, some of the other international and local disk jockeys at the Siloso Beach Party had included DJ Shy, DJ Tinc, DJ Jensen and DJ Jenni-F.
All the DJs certainly kept the energy high at all times throughout the night – with smooth transitions from trance, electric, house, trap and other genres of music to remixes that left the enthusiastic crowd clamouring for more.
Energy levels rose throughout the night
As the night wore on, I could feel the energy levels at the party’s Main Arena rising – the party started slowly, but almost before midnight, everyone at the party was already feeling so high, shaking in tandem to the music as well as belting out the songs, that I simply could not help but join in as well.
The countdown party show, put on by the National Danish Performance Team was also an explosive affair. They started counting down from about one minute to midnight, and I was really feeling the adrenaline and anticipation coming from the crowd as the seconds ticked by.
Moreover, the explosive fireworks that illuminated the night sky at the stroke of midnight were also a treat to the senses, and left us all oohing and aahing in pleasure.
The Siloso Beach Party’s Foam Pool
Besides the DJ acts at the party’s Main Arena, I also checked out the Foam Pool. It was fun to be inside, as I played with the soapy foam and simply let loose my inner childhood fantasies. Now I can indeed see why this is an attraction for many of the Siloso Beach Party goers.
Agreed Dobariya, “I love the foam pool – because the attraction is the foam and water! I can enjoy it just like a small kid, and simply play with foam, jumping and gliding in it.”
A memorable experience for many attendees
For many attendees at the party, it was indeed a memorable experience. Said Debbie, 23, “This is my second time at the Siloso Beach Party and it never fails to be a memorable countdown for my friends and I.”
She added, “We moved from bar to bar and even ended up at the Foam Pool. The most unforgettable was catching international DJ Mike Candys taking the decks on stage.”
The Siloso Beach Party was a fun-filled and a memorable way to end 2014, and see in a new year.
