Come 10 & 11 March, you can expect a splashing good time at the Singapore Sports Hub Community Play Day, a quarterly event that encourages active and healthy lifestyles through family friendly sports, try-outs, fitness workouts, activities for kids and more.
The past seven editions have attracted more than 10,000 participants and the upcoming one promises several key highlights that are set to make it the biggest and best edition ever.
A few of the highlights at the upcoming event include:
- Dragon Boat racing – Featuring more than 100 teams which will compete against each other for top honours.
- Tahiti Dance Fitness – A women’s only physical training programme that is based on the Oei Tahiti dance.
- Experience Fitness – This features the first ever water-bottle Fitness workout which is a creative combination of Bounce DanceFit, Piloting with MasterTrainerAsia and Zumba.
- Water Playground – For the young ones and those who are young at heart, this features themed rides and games such as the Trackless Train, Water Drum and Pirate Ship.
I have been to previous editions of the Sports Hub Community Play Day and have had lots of fun at these, trying out sports such as canoeing and kayaking – which I would not have otherwise had the chance to experience for myself.
So this means that if you have always wanted to give certain sports a try but have not had the opportunity earlier, why not head on down to the Sports Hub Community Play Day and enjoy some outdoor fun together with your family or friends?
Health Talks
There are also health talks that will be taking place at the Sports Hub Community Play Day and this includes finding out how to age well with good vision and a 4-in-1 digital eye screening.
The Active, Beautiful & Clean Water Programme
This programme will also be launched on 10 March and is being held in support of the Singapore World Water Day.
It aims to improve the quality of the water and life by harnessing the full potential of our waterways.
Here you will have the chance to pick up some water saving tips as well as to receive a free gift when you make a pledge to save water.
For Nature Lovers
Also, those who love nature can explore the Bio-retention Swale at the Arena Park and a stretch of vegetated wetland habitat at our waterfront area.
Wildlife such as shorebirds, glittering dragonflies and the Smooth-Coated otters live here – and you may have a chance at spotting these creatures in their natural habitats.
