To celebrate Global Running Day on 7 June this year, ASICS will be doing their part for charity.
This is because the sports company is putting together a running event for runners to collectively achieve the maximum distance possible within 90 minutes. This run will begin and also finish at the Suntec City North Wing Foyer, where isotonic drinks will await the finishers.

ASICS doing their part for charity
And for every kilometre clocked on 7 June, ASICS will donate $1 to charity, with participants being given the chance to nominate the charity of their choice.
ASICS hopes to celebrate the joys of running
Said Kenji Oh, Marketing Director, ASICS Asia Pte Ltd, “We want to celebrate the joys of running in a meaningful way, especially since ASICS has cemented its reputation in the design and manufacture of running shoes.”
Last year ASICS had organised the Beat the Sun Challenge
It is not the first time that ASICS is putting together a small-scale running event such as this. Last year the sports company organised the ASICS Beat The Sun Challenge with the ASICS Running Club and 1018.95km was clocked cumulatively by all runners present.
Last year, the Beat The Sun Challenge had been held to coincide with the ASICS Beat the Sun Relay, which had been happening at the same time, at the trails of Mont Blanc, in Switzerland.
I had taken part in the Beat the Sun Challenge in Singapore and this was a fun-filled community affair, with runners getting together, addressing old friends and meeting new ones through running. I must say that I’d had a great time there.
All Singapore residents are welcome to take part
