Asia’s largest youth football tournament is back, bigger and better than ever.
The JSSL Singapore Professional Academy 7s, taking place on Easter weekend, will feature 7,700 players from 550 teams across seven venues in Singapore.
Showcasing the young football talents from all over the world, expect to see fierce competition in both the boys’ and girls’ pro categories at Asia’s Premiere Youth Football Tournament.
Back to defend their crown in both the boys’ and girls’ categories will be Valencia CF but 2022 winners Tottenham Hotspurs will give them a fierce fight as well as German giants Borussia Dortmund. The finals are taking place at HQ Arena, Woodleigh on 20 April.
On the boys’ and girls’ sides, the teams taking part are as follows.
As well, the tournament is set to feature 15 Age Group events for boys and girls. In past years, the tournament has played a key part in the youth careers of many pro footballers including the likes of Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott (Fulham FC, 2017), Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga (Manchester United 2018) as well as Singapore’s very own Danelle Tan and Erika Parkinson now playing for England U18’s.
JSSL Singapore Professional Academy 7’s has grown significantly from 40 teams in one venue to 550 teams across seven venues in its 11th year.
Besides players, coaches can also be a part of the action, with the JSSL Coaching Convention taking place in conjunction with the tournament. Guest of honour at the convention will be former Liverpool and Norwegian striker John Arne Riise who will talk about his professional journey from Norway to Liverpool, where he won the Champions League in 2005. Top representatives from Borussia Dortmund, Wycombe Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur will also be present to share more about coaching, club management and player development.
For those who are overseas and keen to catch a slice of the action, JSSL 7s games will be streamed live from all 27 pitches on the new JSSL 7s TV platform.
