Come Sunday 17 September, over 33,000 runners will be running traffic-free across the Sydney Harbour Bridge – at the Blackmore’s Sydney Running Festival.
Blackmore’s Bridge Run Now 10km
At the same time, the Blackmore’s Bridge Run has been extended from 9km, to a certified and accurate 10km course which will finish at the Sydney Opera House for the first time in five years.
Draws thousands of runners from around the world
The other events in the Blackmore’s Sydney Running Festival are the Blackmore’s Family Fun Run (3.5km), the Blackmore’s Half Marathon and the Blackmore’s Sydney Marathon.
Said Adam Marshall, Minister for tourism and major events, “This major event draws thousands of runners and visitors to Sydney to participate in one of the most scenic courses in the world. Last year, the Blackmore’s Sydney Running festival delivered over 11,400 overseas and domestic overnight visitors and contributed A$58.4 million in overnight expenditure to our state’s economy.”
Flatter and faster
The Blackmore’s Sydney Marathon and Sydney Half Marathon courses are both faster and flatter than in previous years and will once again finish at the Sydney Opera House. On the other hand, the Blackmore’s Family Fun Run will end at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Blackmore’s Recovery Village
Runners are invited to celebrate at the Blackmore’s Recovery Village after the race, to take in the majestic views of both the Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
World Leader in Marathons
Recognised as a world leader in marathoners, the Blackmore’s Sydney Marathon and Sydney Running Festival has been awarded a Gold Label by the International Association of Athletic Foundation and is the only marathon in Australia to be broadcast live nationally, on Network Ten in Australia and internationally on EuroSports Asia and free to air television channels in Japan and China.
