Take part in the International Bintan Marathon this coming September – and enjoy a scenic run-cation whilst discovering the island’s hidden gems, at the same time.
Bintan is much more than a running destination
Recently, I went on a 3D2N guided media tour to Bintan, and through this tour, I discovered many interesting and beautiful places and landscapes during my short stay in Bintan – that I had not known had existed there, prior to my trip.
These sights had included the beautiful Insta-worthy Gurun Pasir Busang desert landscapes, the delicious Rimba Jaya food street and the beauty of the mangroves along the Sebung River.
If you take part in the International Bintan Marathon, then you too, can head over to these amazing places and enjoy your weekend getaway at the same time, after your scenic run.

Run to take place from 7 – 8 September
Organised by Bintan Resorts, Orange Room and PT Medianusa Permana and held from 7 – 8 September, the International Bintan Marathon will continue to ignite the competitive spirit of runners in the longer race categories, the Half, Full and Elite Marathon categories – following the success of the inaugural event last year.
And as well, the 10km Run is back by popular demand, along with a brand new category, the 3.5km Family Fun Run.
The 3.5km Family Run will also feature carnival games for children aged 4 – 12 years old, to play alongside their parents or guardians.
Scenic Views along the race routes
And all of the event categories will feature impressive and scenic views along the race route.
So this means that regardless of which category you sign up for, you can enjoy the picturesque waterfronts and pristine beaches of Lagoi Bay in Bintan Island while experiencing brand-new and exciting running routes, located just 60-minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore.
During my recent Bintan trip, I saw the beauty of Lagoi Bay for myself, and I’ll say that if this is any indication, then we’re in for a scenic run indeed.
