In celebration of Great Eastern’s 110th anniversary, a new category, the 110 Metre Sprint, will be introduced at the Great Eastern Women’s Run Singapore, this year.
Introduced to mark Great Eastern’s 110th anniversary
Said Keith Chia, the Great Eastern Head of Group Brand and Marketing, “The 110 Metres Sprint was specially introduced this year to mark Great Eastern’s 110th anniversary milestone. This is the first time that a mass running event in Singapore is organising a sprint category for those aged 13 and above.”
Taking place on 14 October this year, the Great Eastern Women’s Run, which is Asia’s largest Women’s Only Half Marathon Mass Running Event, will be held at the iconic Sports Hub for the first time in the event’s history.
As well, the 2018 event will feature a brand new route too, with Nicoll Highway as the starting point of the race, and the ending point being at a spacious race village at the Singapore National Stadium.
And at the same time too, the brand new Sprint category will give runners the rare, not-to-be-missed chance to race on the stadium track.
Registration Fee of just S$11
With a registration fee of just S$11, runners will get the Great Eastern Women’s Run Reebok race tee, worth S$39, as well as an exclusive Great Eastern Women’s Run Sports Bag.
Appeals to another segment of runners
Said Chia, “Other than providing an additional dimension to Great Eastern Women’s Run this year, and giving participants the rare opportunity to race on the stadium track, we also hope to attract another segment of runners who may have always wanted to be a part of the Great Eastern Women’s Run but are not middle or long distance runners.”
He added, “So with this unique 110 Metres Sprint category, anyone can give it a try and be part of this event, too.”
Runners in other categories can top up to run the 110 Metres Sprint
As for runners who have already signed themselves up for one of the other categories at the Great Eastern Women’s Run, that is, either the 5KM, 10KM or 21.1KM events, they can top up S$11 to run in the 110 Metres Sprint Challenge too.
