Kuala Lumpur StanChart Marathon '22 Media Appreciation Event

As an annual curtain closer to the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2022, the Media Appreciation event was held to thank media, influencers and bloggers who have supported KLSCM over the years. Prizes were also given out to the winners of the Media and Corporate challenge.

I was invited to the event as I was the winner of the Half Marathon Women Open category with my time of 1 hour 47 mins 10 sec for the 21.1km distance.

Event kicks off

The event, which took place at the Pacific Regency Hotel Suites in Kuala Lumpur, kicked off with a short address by Rainer Biemans, Project Director of KLSCM.

Said Rainer, “Our last KLSCM event was in 2019 and I am happy we were able to close that chapter. I hope the pandemic is now firmly in the rear view mirror and that we can start anew in 2023 with more than 40,000 runners.”

KLSCM had attracted about 36,000 participants in total for the 2022 edition.

At the event, Rainer also thanked media, bloggers and influencers for their support of KLSCM.

He said, “I am glad and happy that you all continue to inspire your communities for KLSCM.”

Prizes presented

Following this, the Corporate and Media Challenge prizes were presented.

The prize included a specially designed medal for Media Challenge winners and a pair of Brooks shoes.

Due to the smaller number of Media Challenge runners, not all categories (Male and Female Open and Veteran) were represented across the 10km, Half Marathon and Full Marathon distances.
