Organised by MetaSport, the Green Dot Challenge is a virtual race taking place from 19th – 28th November and offers both scenery and greenery, with four fixed 10km running routes to choose from.
Four routes to pick from
With different running routes at MacRitchie Reservoir, Gardens by the bay, Punggol Waterway and Jurong Lake, runners can either opt to play to their strengths in their choice of route, or else pick a route that’s closest to home.
Regardless of which route you go for though, you will be ranked in a common leaderboard thanks to the Green Dot Challenge equaliser.
I am taking part; join me
I have registered for the Gardens by the bay route mostly because this is the most convenient and accessible to me.
As well, this is also a flat route that is 100% based on road and park connectors, so it also plays to my strengths as I prefer running on roads. Trail running is not my forte.
Easy registration process
Registration was quite fuss-free, requiring me to opt for my race date and timing.
There are slots available from Fridays – Sundays with morning racing held from 6am – 9am and evening racing from 4pm – 8:30pm.
So regardless of your personal schedule or preferences, there will definitely be a slot for you. Both morning and evening runners will be able to play to their strengths and race at a time that is most suitable to them.
For me, I am doing my race on a Sunday morning, 21st November, at 7am. I hope to see you along the course with me.
