10-time ultramarathon winner, Natalie Dau, 52, who is based in Singapore, will be taking on a record-breaking solo 1000km run over 12 days. She will be running the equivalent of two marathons (42.2km x 2) per day.
Natalie’s run will begin in Hat Yai, Thailand, on Saturday May 25, an epic adventure that will take her from Thailand, through the length of Malaysia and then finish in Singapore on Wednesday June 5, coinciding with Global Running Day. Her last two marathons will be in Singapore, beginning from Woodlands Checkpoint.
With her completion, Natalie will set a Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing of Peninsula Malaysia on foot as well as a Singapore record for the Fastest 1000km Thailand-Singapore Ultramarathon. The latter will be present at the finish line to clock Natalie’s official timing.

There will be local engagement throughout Natalie’s run and will end with fanfare with local running groups, organisations, special guests and partners greeting Natalie at the finish line at The Westin Singapore at Asia Square. Runners will also be joining her during her final leg in Singapore.
With Project1000, Natalie is setting herself the ultimate physical challenge; while bringing more awareness to the importance of physical movement for overall well-being and mental health.
Said Natalie, “I believe that everyone should have access to exercise and experience the joy of movement. Project1000 demonstrated a constant push towards optimal performance while bringing awareness to a cause that I feel passionate about.”
