Organised by Pink Apple Pte Ltd, the 2017 edition of the Newton Challenge is back on 29 October 2017 and will flag off at the Marina Barrage with a brand new 10km category.
Categories
As the anchor lead up event to the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) taking place in December, the Newton Challenge will also consist of the pre-existing 21.1km and the 32km categories, in order to prepare runners taking part in the Half Marathon and the Full Marathon respectively, at SCSM.
The 32km category of the Newton Challenge will also flag off at 4.30am in the morning. This will give marathon runners practise in waking up early in order to run at such a time so that they will be better equipped for SCSM.
For runners taking part in the 32km category, the cut-off time will be 6 hours and 40 minutes.
Meanwhile, the 21.1km race will flag off at 5.30am and the 10km category flags off at 7.30am. The 21.1km runners have 4 hours to complete their race and for the 10km runners, they have a generous 2hours and 30minutes to do so.
Runner Entitlements
Runners taking part in Newton Challenge will receive a Newton Finisher Polo Tee Shirt, as well as a Newton Running Singlet, Socks, a Finisher Medal and a Lucky Draw entry for the race.
Runners who stay back for the Lucky Draw can stand to win attractive prizes, which includes a Samsung Mobile Phone, an iPad Mini and a GoPro. Winners must be present in order to claim their prizes.
Prizes
For runners who are gunning for podium prizes at the Newton Challenge, they can stand to receive attractive prizes, such as $300 worth of cash or product vouchers depending on their respective race categories.
Race Entry Pack Collection
The race pack collection process for Newton Challenge will take place at Velocity @ Novena Square the week before the race, on 21 and 22 October from 11am-7pm.
Runners who are not able to collect their race packs in person, may however authorise a relative or a friend to pick up their race pack for them.
Registration Rates
Runners who took part in the Newton Challenge from 2014-2016 can now register for the race under the Loyalty Rate of $40 for the 10km run, $50 for the 21.1km run and $60 for the 32km race. Loyalty rates are applicable till 31 August 2017.

I saw the route map for 32km, the cut off point (diversion) is at 21km mark and you need to reach by 7.15 am else you will be disqualified
But i saw the cut off time for 32 km is 6 hrs 40 min
How is the diversion so early at 715am for 32 km when cut off time is 6 hrs 40 min (means you need to complete 21km in 2 hrs 45 mins
It does not really make sense, could you advise
This is the organiser’s official reply, lifted from their Facebook page.
“Hi there, if you miss the cut off time for the diversion point, you will be disqualified in terms of ranking as your distance completed will be different from those who were not diverted. In this case, you will still receive your Medal and Finisher polo when you complete the race.
However, if you miss the category cut off time of 6 hours to complete the entire race, you may not receive your Medal and Finisher polo. Hope this clarifies.”
