This month, PUMA has emphatically marked their return to the Singapore running scene, with their launch of the NITRO Run Collection in Singapore, via a virtual press event, reaching out to media, runners and PUMA fans not only in Singapore, but also Malaysia and Indonesia.
Created using NITRO foam
The new shoes are all created using PUMA’s new advanced foam technology, NITRO, which is infused with nitrogen gas through an innovative new process the new collection of shoes promise cushioning and effortless running.
The flagship model, Deviate NITRO features an internal composite carbon fiber plate that acts as a lever that effortlessly propels the foot forward during the gait cycle, thereby increasing running efficiency.
The Velocity NITRO is built for cushioning and responsiveness on every run.
The Eternity NITRO provides support and guidance that works for all footstrikes. This shoe is specifically designed for runners looking for more stability and support.
And last but not least, as PUMA’s lightest shoe to date, the Liberate NITRO is the perfect choice for a fast tempo run or short race up to a half marathon.
Says Jaime Sala, Head of Strategic Accounts at PUMA Southeast Asia, “we are confident that this will be a game changer in the running industry.”
The virtual press conference
The virtual press launch consisted of three components – nine runners from varying backgrounds and walks of life sharing their pre, mid and post run experiences with the Deviate NITRO, co-host Jerald Justin Ko (JK) at the 100PLUS Promenade with a group of beta runners trying out the Deviate NITRO for the first time, and finally, co-host Jade Seah at the PUMA studio.
The switch from one group to another was pretty interesting, with consensus and impressions about the Deviate NITRO shoes from all the runners being pretty similar – that these shoes definitely help to propel you forward when running.
I myself have been using the Deviate NITRO for a while too. Check out my review of the shoes here.
PUMA to host Nitro Day to test the shoes
If you want to experience the Deviate NITRO before you decide whether this is a suitable shoe for you, PUMA will be hosting Nitro Day, an event on 15 and 16 May with a host of running sessions planned throughout the weekend to let you have a feel of the shoes for yourself.
Also, running tips will be shared at the sessions, and you may too have the chance to run with your favourite celebrities and personalities who are PUMA fans.
More details will be shared by PUMA in due course.
However, do note that this is applicable only to those in Singapore.
Clock 600km with the Deviate NITRO and exchange for a new pair
And another thing, PUMA are so committed that they have promised that if you purchase the Deviate NITRO from now till 16 July and then clock 600km or more with the Deviate NITRO before 31 December, they will do a 1-for-1 trade-in for you with a brand NEW pair of Nitro shoes (Deviate, Liberate, Velocity, Eternity), for FREE.
However you need to track your progress towards 600km with the PUMATRAC app in order to be eligible for the exchange and once you have clocked the required mileage, simply head on to any PUMA retail store in order to make this switch.
