The versatile Skechers GoRun Ride 9™ is the latest generation in the Skechers GoRun Ride series of lightweight, neutral and well-cushioned running shoes. Featuring a breathable engineered mesh upper with HYPER BURST® cushioning and Goodyear® Performance Outsole.

HYPER BURST® cushioning

The cushioning is created through a supercritical mechanical foaming process with thousands of spherically shaped cell structures compressed into the midsole, resulting in an ultra-lightweight and more resilient material that provides enhanced durability and responsiveness for an effortless run.

Also featuring the HYPER BURST® cushioning technology in the same range are the GoRun Max Road 5™, the GoRun 8 and the GoRun Forza 5™ for both men and women.

Skechers sent me a pair of GoRun Ride 9 for my review purposes, together with a Skechers top and shorts and a few other items. 

To date, I have tried the shoes out on a few runs.

Shoes are comfortable and well-cushioned

Slipping my feet into the shoes, they are plush and soft and the collar is well cushioned. I was pretty surprised at how comfortable the shoes are.

The heel and tongue holds in place well and the shoe feels stable. The upper is very breathable and keeps my feet feeling pretty dry and fresh in Singapore’s balmy climate.

The HYPER BURST® cushioning does its job well, giving the shoe a plush and comfortable feeling with a really good turnover and a slight bounce when I am running.

They are very easy shoes to run with and they will definitely suit most runners. In fact, I would recommend these to beginner runners who may be looking for their first pair of shoes and are getting overwhelmed by the choices available.

Shoes also provide excellent grip

As it has not really been raining recently, I have not been able to test out the grip and traction of the shoes in wet weather.

But according to Skechers, the Goodyear® Performance Outsole technology is designed for durability with long-lasting wear, providing excellent grip on a variety of surfaces and weather conditions, as well as an enhanced stability for safe running.

A light and responsive shoe

Overall I would say that this is a pretty light and responsive shoe that basically works and does its job straight out of the box.

Excellent daily trainer

If you are looking for an all-purpose running shoe that can tick most boxes, then I would recommend the Skechers GoRun Ride 9™.

For seasoned marathoners who want to add the Skechers GoRun Ride 9™ to their rotation, these would be great for recovery days or the long easy sessions when you just want something comfortable and easy on your feet, and are not looking to push yourself too hard.
