The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon – billed as the race of the year – takes place this Saturday and Sunday, between 2 and 3 December with more than 50,000 runners expecting to be participating in the various categories.

The Kids Dash takes place on 2 December while the 10km Race, 21.1km Half Marathon and 42.195km Full Marathon takes place on the morning of Sunday 3 December.

Run will bring participants through Singapore’s historical and cultural sights
The Half and the Full Marathon will flag off at 4.30am in the heart of Singapore’s shopping district, Orchard Road, and the run will bring participants through historical and cultural sights of Singapore such as Chinatown, the Malay Heritage Area and the heart of the Central Business District.
90 per cent of road closures
Runners can also look forward to 90 per cent of road closures across the race route. This is the most ever for a running race in Singapore.
The road closures, according to the organiser, IRONMAN Asia, are also expected to play a big part in making the experience a truly unforgettable one for both runners and their supporters.
Here is a list of road closures for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km Run, for participants, as well as motorists and members of the public who may need to travel to the affected areas this coming Saturday and Sunday:
