Last year, RunningHour had created history by breaking the Singapore Book of Records for the Largest Blindfolded Mass Run in Singapore, with more than 1,000 runners partnering up and challenging each other to run whilst blindfolded.
And now Singapore’s only ‘Blind Run’, RunningHour is back for 2016.
Takes place at East Coast Park
Taking place this year at East Coast Park Angsana Green on 10 July this year and organised by the RunningHour Co-Operative Limited, the RunningHour 2016 run is a unique race that invites all runners to experience running with a visual impairment – with a goal of integrating people with special needs into the community through sports. In fact this is the only event in Singapore whereby runners can run alongside inspirational athletes with visual, intellectual or physical handicaps.
Once again, the 2016 event will comprise of its signature ‘Blind Run’ Category for both the 5KM and 10KM distances – where runners compete in pairs, with one running blindfolded and the other as a guide, connected by a tether band.
Hopes to attract 5,000 runners
This year, RunningHour 2016 is hoping to attract 5,000 participants to champion this meaningful cause, and this included runners with special needs – who will be given complimentary slots to take part in this event.
A Mass Dance Session for Runners
Following the run too, a Non-Stop Mass Dance Fitness Session will also take place to keep the runners entertained. This Fitness Session will be free for runners, and is chargeable at $20 for non-runners at RunningHour 2016.
