REVIEW + 15% OFF DISCOUNT CODE: Sudio E2 takes sound to new heights

Taking sound quality to new heights in a pair of compact, true wireless earbuds, the new Sudio E2 is the latest generation of the best-selling Sudio Ett, and the company’s most advanced earphone to date.

Elevate your listening experience

According to Sudio, you will elevate your listening experience with the E2’s immersive Spatial Audio and captivating Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation.

This technology is a groundbreaking partnership between Sudio and their partner, the digital audio processing company, Dirac.

And while it sounds fancy, the gist of this technology means that you’ll feel as though you are listening to premium speakers instead of in-ear earbuds.

Enjoy clearer calls

As well, you will also enjoy clearer calls with the beam forming VividVoice technology.

With Covid-19 changing the working landscape with social distancing and remote work by converting many physical face-to-face meetings and conferences into zoom meetings and video calls, this technology clearly has online meetings in mind.

This feature makes it easier for you to be heard in busy settings such as cafes and office environments.

Says Sudio CEO Johan Gawell, “We are proud of the accomplishments of our team in collaboration with our technological partners at Dirac, whose hard work has placed Sudio E2 on the frontier of true wireless audio.”

The collaboration between Sudio and Dirac bring unparalleled Spatial Audio sound quality to the E2 regardless of playback device or media player used.

Four colour combinations

As such, I was quite excited when Sudio reached out to me for a collaboration on the E2.

The earphones come in four colours: Chalk, Grey, Black and Jade.

Wanting to stand out from the norm, I went for the jade colour, which I think was definitely the right choice and a refreshing change from many of the black or white earphones out there.

FREE Ladd+ wireless charger with every purchase

The Sudio E2 arrived together with a Sudio Ladd+ wireless charger.

Sudio is currently running a promotion whereby the charger comes free with every purchase of the Sudio E2.

And the wireless charger provides the Sudio E2 with two hours of usage in just ten minutes.

So if you have forgotten to charge the E2 and you need it say, for a long run or a gym session, then you don’t need to fret. Ten minutes will do it.

Packaging

Like all of Sudio’s products, the E2 comes packaged in a clean, white paper box.

Inside the box are an instruction manual, charging cable, four sets of ear-tips and a cleaning cloth, as well as the E2 snugly sitting inside its storage cum charging case.

Design

The casing of the E2 is wider and flatter than its predecessor, the Sudio Ett.

The design makes it pretty compact and relatively easy to slip into my handbag or the pocket of my workout shorts.

The design of the earphones remind me of the Apple EarPods.

They fit straight out of the box, with the earphones staying in my ear comfortably.

With the Sudio E2 plugged into my ears, they feel so seamless that I can easily forget that I am wearing them.

Testing out the Sudio E2

Since receiving them, I have used the Sudio E2 mainly on my runs.

I am currently training for a marathon in April and they have been a great companion to distract me during my run sessions.

With my hardest trainings approaching peak period and longest runs heading into the 30km range, the Sudio E2’s couldn’t have come at a better time.

Sound quality is impressive

I have been listening to music, podcasts and audio books, and the sound quality is impressive – I think that Sudio have definitely outdone themselves with regards to the true wireless earphone market.

Toggling on the Dirac Spatial Audio definitely makes a difference with regards to the dimension and depth of the sound quality all around.

With regards to music, the E2’s bass is distinctive and concise, and the rhythm is good.

The highs and vocals are also clear and precise. Mids are a tad on the weaker side though.

The separation of left and right stereo sound is very sharp and crisp.

For podcasts complete with mesmerising sound effects, such as fiction podcast Forest 404, the surround sound of the Sudio E2 makes the experience very immersive and you really do feel that you are being drawn into the landscapes and chilling dystopian worlds depicted in the podcasts. I was impressed.

I think that the sound is definitely an improvement from Sudio’s previous models.

I would say that the E2 is a great choice for the casual listener who wants to have good music packaged in a small and compact device.

Sound dropped a few times

My only issue is that the sound dropped on several occasions.

For instance during a 16km morning run along East Coast Park, I experienced the sound dropping at least twice, around the Carpark F and G areas.

I was listening without any issues one moment, and then the next, the earphones went silent for a second, and then the sound became garbled and meshed together, before righting itself a second or two later.

I think this most likely had to do with the reception around the area as this particular stretch consists of quite a fair bit of construction sites, causing interference.

Touch controls

Like with all Sudio products, the E2’s touch controls are activated via clicks and holds on the earbuds: for example, one click to answer calls and three clicks to change the volume.

However, the sensitivity is not the best and even though I have been using Sudio products for a while now, I still have problems getting the hang of this feature.

App

Sudio now has an app available on Google Play and Apple PlayStore. This would work as an equalizer for their new flagship model Sudio E2 – as well as the Sudio T2.

Hi. Would like to know if this is good for running? I am looking for something which can make my ears coomfy during running and it wont drop off

Hello. I used the E2 during marathon training and personally I can say they served me well during my long runs. They don’t fall out of the ears and they are comfy. I barely remember I am wearing them. The only issue I had was that the sound drops, which happened a few times during my long runs.
