With the catchy tagline “Bring On The Night”, the Sundown Marathon 2014 is Singapore’s biggest marathon – to be staged entirely at night.
Here are some of the things that you can expect in the lead-up to the run, as well as on race-day itself – at the Sundown Marathon on 31 May.
Training With Pacers
In the months leading up to the Sundown Marathon, there will be training runs with the official race pacers. These will help you to establish your pace and give you a good gauge of how you are going to perform on race day. Moreover, these training runs will give you a great chance to interact with the pacers and get to know other runners.
The first training run takes place next month, on 29 March at 8pm. The distance completed at this training session will be 17km for Half Marathon runners and 26km for Full Marathon runners.
The next two training runs are going to be held on 20 April and 4 May respectively.
Run Through the City
The Sundown Marathon race route will take you straight through the heart of the city – and in the dead of night. Don’t worry, there won’t be any zombies shuffling behind. So you’ll be able to concentrate on your run, and at the same time, take in Singapore’s vibrant night scene.
Clock your personal best with the pacers
At the Sundown Marathon, experienced pacers – whom you met during the training runs – will help you to clock a new personal best timing.
Relax after the run
Once your race is over, you will be able to cool down, rehydrate and enjoy yourself at the Sundown Marathon Race Village – rewarding yourself with massages and ice baths to enjoying scrumptious food and drinks. For runners who are unable to sleep, blockbuster movies will be shown at the Race Village – so you can just sit back, relax and have fun.
Top Class Performances
For tired runners, you will also have the chance to enjoy Singapore’s top musicians and entertainers at the Sundown Marathon post-race village – after achieving a new personal best.
