Following his major disagreements with Iron Man about having international oversight to account for the actions of the Avengers, Captain America realised that he needed to recruit more superheroes into his Avengers ranks – to help with his cause.
So he then recruited his friend Cyclops from the X-Men – to put out an advertisement to call all superheroes from far and wide – to come and answer the call to join him and his Avengers on a fun Sunday morning run.
And to Captain America’s sheer surprise, more than 200 “superheroes” had decided to turn up to see what everything was all about.
Not only were there Marvel superheroes like Spider Man and The Incredible Hulk present, but superheroes from rival group Justice League such as Batman, Cat Woman, Superman, Super Girl, The Flash and Wonder Woman also decided to come down to see what the fuss was all about. In addition, the Hit Girl from Kick Ass was also there.
Gei Gei Super Hero Run took place at 7.00am
This had been the Gei Gei Running Club’s Super Hero Fun Run and took place at 7.00am this morning.
For the run, the superheroes met at the Singapore Sports Hub and Cyclops led them on a 9km route to the Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Barrage.
The running route had been a pretty standard route, and this is not my first time running at the area.
But being in the company of so many other like-minded runners this morning, had really had helped to make the run more enjoyable than before, at the same venue.
Lots of photo taking opportunities
As with all of Gei Gei Running Club event, there were lots of photo taking going on and runners were extremely keen to “photobomb” each other’s pictures – more so than doing the actually running itself!
Also with so many superheroes present, everyone had wanted to take photos with each other.
The entire run had been a complete blast – and I think it was possibly the most fun event organised by the Gei Gei Running Club.
At the halfway point of the run, which was at the top of the Marina Barrage slope, we stopped to catch our breath and took some more photos.
The superheroes that were the most popular for photo opportunities were The Hulk and Spider Man, probably because their costumes were the most elaborate ones.
A “party” at the finishing line
After that we then ran back to the Sports Hub, and on reaching the end point, the superheroes and runners were treated to a feast, which included Pocari Sweat isotonic drinks, as well as watermelons and pineapples, chocolate love letters and some home-made Cheese rocks.
A balloon magician was also present at the finishing line to give out balloon animals and other creatures to the runners – to add to the festivities and carnival atmosphere.
There were also Best Dressed Costume prizes being given out to the runners who had the most elaborate superheroes costumes. In the end, the Incredible Hulk was the overall winner.
I can’t wait to see what new running theme the Gei Gei Running Club will come up with next time round. Perhaps Star Wars could be rather cool?
