TRI-Factor Series Tenth Anniversary Asian Championship kicks off with resounding success

More than 800 athletes took part in the first TRI-Factor event for 2018/2019, the TRI-Factor Bike/CycleRun 2018 event, taking place in the heart of Singapore and featuring brand new race categories – namely the CycleRun Long (28km bike/ 10km Run/ 28km Bike) and the Team Relay TRI-Factor CycleRun Long (28km Bike/ 10km Run/ 28km Bike), last Sunday.

The longer distance categories were to cater to multi sports athletes who are progressing towards longer distances such as the IronMan 70.3.

Said Elvin Ting, Managing Director of Orange Room Pte Ltd, the organisers of the TRI-Factor Series, “We are pleased to launch the TRI-Factor Series Asian Championships in our tenth year anniversary with a successful TRI-Factor Bike/CycleRun event.”

This event is the beginning of the buildup for the Asian Championship Series and Serene Lee, a national cyclist, who took top honours in the TRI-Factor 49km bike category with a time of 1hour 24mins 12sec.

Chawaree Termtanah and Sarah Tan finished second and third, clocking 1hour 26mins 13sec and 1hour 29mins 25sec respectively.

And in the inaugural Long Distance CycleRun challenge, Alan Blakie took top honours, with a time of 2hours 11min 32sec. This was more than seven minutes ahead of second placed Colin Mitchell and coming in third place was Clifford Scott.

Said Ting, “We look forward to putting up more races in iconic venues across the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and China. Our purpose is to provide our athletes with diverse race options throughout the year, catering to the specific needs of the athletes across Asia.”

The tenth anniversary celebrations of the TRI-Factor Series in Singapore, continues with the TRI-Factor Run & RunSwim on 8th July and then the TRI-Factor 10 Challenge & Triathlon on 29 July.
