Today and tomorrow (16 and 17 January), you can head down to the Weston store at the Singapore Sports Hub to try out Puma’s revolutionary evoPOWER 1.3 football boots – and stand a chance to win a pair.
The latest addition to the evoPOWER range, these are the exact same boots that leading football players, such as Olivier Giroud, Cesc Fabregas and Mario Balotelli will debut this weekend in their respective football league matches with their various clubs in Europe.
Fabregas, 28, loves the new Puma boots. He said, “Since the evoPOWER was launched in 2014, Puma has managed to improve this great boot even more each year. What I especially like about the latest version is the stability it gives, which helps to improve my performance.”Set to redefine the meaning of power on the football pitch
Launched yesterday in Singapore, the new evoPOWER 1.3 boots are set to completely redefine the meaning of power on the football pitch. Designed with a completely new outsole and improved upper material that combine to enable even more flexibility of movement for the foot, the evoPOWER boots comes in a vibrant eye-catching yellow colour and feature optimal ground penetration in all weather conditions.
As with previous boots in Puma’s evoPOWER family, these are still grounded in the basic principles of barefoot kicking, and enhances what the body does naturally. Bringing this concept to the next level, the evoPOWER 1.3 now provides added flexibility through the outsole, which leads to more kicking power than ever before.
Said Adam Rarch, 29, Puma spokesperson, “We have improved on the technology of the boots, with new studs configuration and new flexible upper materials.”This improved studs configuration allows for more manoeuvrability and at the same time, gives added stability in the mid-foot of the standing leg while kicking.
Continued Rarch, “We have also used foam cushioning for better comfort – and we hope that players will be able to hit the ball harder and with more accuracy than before, when they kick the football with these boots.”
Local Players found the boots comfortable
At last evening’s launch event, national goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud, 25, had been one of the first to experience the new evoPOWER 1.3 boots and he has a positive impression of them.
He said, “It’s the first time I am trying out the boots, which are very comfortable. They have a good fit and suits me very well. In my position, I need to change direction very often, so it’s more important that the boots are comfortable rather than powerful – and these boots more than meet my expectations. I hope that my sponsor can give me these!”
Sheikh Faris, 17, a central midfielder with the Home United U17 team, also shared similar sentiments about the boots. He said, “The boots are very comfortable to shoot and control and I really recommend them to the central midfielders. I definitely do feel that they are more powerful as well and are of a really good quality to play football with.”
The two football players had been given three tries to kick a football into the “goal” – which was a hole in the wall, and at the same time getting as much power into their shot as possible.
Take part in the evoPOWER challenge
And like them, you will be able to find out how powerful your kick is – if you head down to the Weston Store (#01-58) at the Kallang Wave Mall, today or tomorrow from 10am to 10pm.
Football fans will be judged based on the accuracy and power of their shots whilst wearing the evoPOWER 1.3 boots. First of all, the participants shots must be on target and secondly the speed of their on-target shots will be registered as their scores. Participants can have unlimited tries by queuing up more than once though. At the end of the challenge on Sunday night, the scores will be tabulated and the top three scorers will each win a pair of customised evoPOWER 1.3 football boots.
The all-new evoPOWER 1.3 retails at SGD299 and is available at PUMA and Weston retail stores in Singapore.
