SCMS Will Now Be organised by IRONMAN

Sport Singapore (SportSG), the national sports agency, has appointed IRONMAN Endurance Asia – which has entered into an agreement to acquire Spectrum WorldWide – as organisers of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) till 2025.

The SCMS had been organised by Spectrum WorldWide since 2013.

SCMS will be organised by IRONMAN.

Selected out of five proposals

IRONMAN were selected out of five promising proposals for their long term sustainability plans, new strategies to grow the marathon and their experience in organising mass participations events around the world.

Said Mr Lim Teck Yin, CEO of SportSG, “Seven entities showed interest and five put in strong proposals, each having their own strengths in different conceptual and organising aspects. With their extensive expertise and experience through nearly 260 events globally, we believe that IRONMAN Endurance Asia has the right acumen to enhance Marathon Singapore locally and internationally.”

He added, “We called for proposals in April looking for not only organisers with exceptional standard in delivering the event, but also someone who can enhance the runners’ experience and raise the stature of the event to benefit Singaporeans and other marathon enthusiasts.”

IRONMAN will use their strength and resources to grow SCMS

With backing from its parent company Wanda Sports, IRONMAN Endurance Asia will aim to use their strength and resources to grown the SCMS.
