Featuring the faces of smiling characters, playful patterns and geometric shapes, the 2015 Logitech M238 Play Collection of wireless mice is possibly the cutest and most adorable ones that I’ve seen.
Designs are inspired by the latest fashion trends
The mice designs are inspired by the latest trends in fashion, furniture design and accessories from Milan Design Week. They feature three sweet and distinctive animals with their own engaging personalities – Ophelia Owl, Francesca Fox and Marc Monkey. As well, there are also two colourful mice based on colourful geometric patterns – the Blue Facets and Pink Facets designs.
Said Moninder Jain, Managing Director of Logitech South East Asia and India, “Our goal was to evoke a little fun and remind you to smile when you’re using your mouse. We combined a splash of colour, a touch of playfulness and a dash of spirit to create this year’s 2015 Logitech Play Collection. The colour combinations and designs are interesting, cheerful and add personality to your desk.”
The M238 Play Collection is good for students and office workers – to perform basic computing tasks such as word processing, spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations as well as surfing the Internet and for research.
System requirements and product specifications
Here are the system requirements and product specifications of the Logitech M238 mice. (See Chart).
Mouse looks extremely adorable
I received a Logitech M238 media kit for the red Francesca Fox wireless mouse. The moment that it arrived, I was immediately taken aback by the mouse’s cuteness and just simply how adorable it is. The primarily red and white colours on the mouse match each other perfectly.
Easy to get started with the mouse
It is easy to get the mouse started. You simply plug the enclosed USB receiver into one of the USB ports on your computer and switch the mouse on. The computer will pick up the mouse instantaneously.
The mouse itself is pretty easy to use and the relatively large wheel in the centre also works well most of the time for both scrolling and left clicking. It’ll be great though, if the centre wheel could scroll left and right too.
Response time is good
The response time in terms of both clicking as well as using the scrolling wheel though, is relatively fast and smooth. This will suit impatient users who need things in a hurry.
While the mouse is primarily made of plastic, the sides of the mouse are made of rubber, which helps to create some degree of friction as you are using it. This helps the user to grip the mouse better so that it will not find it slip away when you need to do a fair bit of clicking and scrolling.
Upon turning the mouse off and then back on again after a few minutes, the mouse is also picked up immediately by the computer – which will be good for busy students and executives. This on/off switch is also useful for saving battery power in the mouse.
Can roam up to 10 metres away
According to Logitech, the mouse can roam up to 10 metres away from the computer without losing connection. I tested this out and found it to be true.
The speed of the mouse remained pretty consistent and still fast, up until the actual point of losing connection, roughly about 10 metres away. Such a feature would be pretty useful for presentations.
Ergonomics features
For the ergonomics features of the mouse, I noticed that it is designed for those with smaller sized hands. However, the smaller size of the mouse also means that it’s good for frequent travellers and those who are always on the go.
In addition, it is also primarily a right-handed mouse, due to the positions of the left click and right click buttons. However, this is the case with the majority of computer mice out there in the market, though.
Overall comments
Overall, this is a cute mouse that will suit your needs if you want something colourful and attractive to spice up your desk and create a talking point with your colleagues and friends.
